The PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI) 2022 will take place from August 11 to August 20. Teams from all around the globe will compete for a piece of the $3 million prize pool as well as the coveted trophy.

The PMWI is being held in the Esports and Elite Zone – Boulevard in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The 2019 PMCO Fall Split Global Finals will be the first global offline tournament since then. The PMWI is taking place at the Gamers8 festival, which is also one of the tournament’s event partners. The television partner is ESL, while the smartphone partner is Sony Xperia. The PMWI will most likely be played on Sony Xperia smartphones.

SCHEDULE FOR PMWI 2022 – UNIQUE TWO-WEEK FORMAT

PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2022 has been divided into two weeks. Their timetable is as follows:

  • Week 1 (Main Tournament): August 11-13
  • Week 2 (Afterparty Showdown): August 18-20

If you want to attend the PUBG Mobile World Invitational in person, don’t worry; tickets will be available shortly on the Gamers8 website. The organizer has not yet disclosed price or other information.

The $3 million prize fund has been divided equally between the two weeks. The prize fund for the main event, which will include 18 teams battling for the title, will be $2 million. In contrast, just 12 teams will compete for the remaining $1 million in the Afterparty Showdown.

FORMAT OF THE PMWI MAIN TOURNAMENT

The primary event will take place during the first week of the PUBG Mobile World Invitational, with the majority of the bragging rights up for grabs. To determine the victors, the 18 teams will participate in an unspecified number of matches.

It should be noted that PUBG Mobile esports has previously used 16-team lobbies. With 18 teams competing, the PMWI will witness a shift in this area. They’ll be taking on Erangel, Miramar, and Sanhok.
